Welcome to the Southern District Council’s homepage.

The Third Southern District Council of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has been established on 1 January 2008. We are committed to reflect residents’ views to the government on local affairs, public facilities and services as well as territory-wide issues.

The Southern District Council has undertaken to continue with the running and funding of community activities with a view to improving the environmental facilities, protecting the pleasant and tranquil environment for living in the district and having a place where the residents work and live comfortably for the enjoyment of different lifestyles.

With the rapid advance in information technology, public demand for access to information has been increasing. To meet public expectation, we have set up this homepage to facilitate easy access to the latest news of and information on the Southern District Council through internet. Additionally, for promoting local economy and tourism in the Southern District, we have also launched a dedicated “Southern District Tourism website” (www.TravelSouth.hk) so that the general public and the tourists all over the world can easily obtain information on traveling in the Southern District.
